Food & wine connoisseurs will savor the delights of the region's finest restaurants while enjoying expertly paired wines at the CAN Council's 12th Annual Wines Around the World event. 600 locals will turn out for the event at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on June 4th, 2015 from 5:30 - 9:00 pm.

The event's ticket price of $60 includes food, wine, beer & bourbon throughout the evening. Chefs from 10 of the region's most reputable restaurants including:

American Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Gatsby's Seafood & Steakhouse, Latitude 43 Grill & Bar, Old City Hall Restaurant, Prost! Wine Bar and Charcuterie, Saginaw Bay Yacht Club, Tavern 101, The Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe, and VNO Wine Warehouse & New Age Restauran will be preparing special menus for the evening's tastings. US Foods will cook for this year's event as well as help underwrite the cost of food for participating restaurants.

Area sommeliers will match each restaurant's menu with the perfect wine selections. Ideal Party Store will present an ice cream sundae bar along with its private label bourbon, and Oppermann's Cork N Ale will serve its private label wines.

The recently released Kids Count in Michigan Data Book 2015 revealed that in 2013, there were 366 confirmed child abuse victims, and 2,709 children in families investigated for abuse and neglect in Bay County.

The CAN Council is at the forefront of addressing the issues surrounding child abuse & neglect through its nationally-accredited and award-winning prevention, intervention and advocacy programs.
