Adult and Teen Themes

Last year, nearly 10,000 people ages birth through adult joined Summer Reading Program at the Bay County Library System (BCLS). This fantastic, summer-long event features prize drawings, FREE performances, workshops, crafts and movies, contests, and more! This year, the superhero themed program runs from June 15 through August 15. Participants are not required to hold a BCLS library card! Reading logs will be available at any branch and the bookmobile beginning June 15.

While supplies last, everyone who signs up for Summer Reading Program receives a newly designed, reusable book bag courtesy of the Friends of the Bay County Libraries. Teens and adults who complete their log will be entered in a drawing for an iPad mini. Teens and children who complete their logs will receive a free book in addition to prizes. Grades K-6 are encouraged to participate in the annual Design-A-Bookmark contest. Winners in each of four age categories will have their bookmark professionally printed and distributed at BCLS branches. Entry forms, which are due by August 15, are available on the BCLS website or at any branch library.

To gear up for the summer excitement, patrons of all ages are invited to attend one of these FREE kick-off events sponsored by a generous donation by Dow Corning:
