The Verve Pipe recently performed two shows at the Bay City State Theater on Saturday, March 12, 2011.

The Verve Pipe rock band, who is, Brian Vander Ark (Lead Singer), Donny Brown (Drummer), Randy Sly (Keyboard), Andy Reed (Bass), Lou Musa (Lead Guitar), and Graig Griffith (Harmonica), put on a spectacular double show.

The afternoon at the State Theater was buzzing with kids for The Verve Pipe 'Family Show' which was the band's first family show concert, at the State Theater featuring songs off their "A Family Album" CD.

Also, adding a popular Toy Story "You got a friend in me" sing-along, and more interaction with the kids which kept the interest and energy level high every minute of the hour long show.

The kids were geared up and ready to go and so was the Verve. Not sure who had more fun the band, the kids or the adults!

As this writer cannot decide which concert was more entertaining. It was two great, spectacular shows for sure!

The band, who put out a children's CD entitled a 'A Family Album' in 2009, received great raves with children as well as adults.

The band has performed songs from the album at elementary schools, including Deter, Michigan. Craig McCalla, Principal at Cornerstone Elementary said, "If you are looking for a musical experience for your students, this band will provide that like no other. I would highly recommend The Verve Pipe for any school assembly."

The adult rock show stage was also full of energy with the 6 piece band, including members from the local area, Bay City, Essexville and Saginaw.

Griffith's harmonica playing added extra energy to the stage and the audience, and in the end the band received a well deserved standing ovation. Vander Ark said, "What an awesome night!" The State Theater in Bay City is one of Vander Ark's favorite venues to perform in Michigan. And his primary love is for the fans and it definitely shows as Vander Ark & The Verve always takes the time out for the fans with a meet & greet after the show.
