Travel the world with the BCLS Summer Reading Program

Would you like to go on an African Safari, explore the Great Pyramids, backpack through Europe and watch the sunset from the Eiffel Tower at no cost AND get great prizes just for participating?!
The (BCLS) Bay County Library System (500 Center Ave) invites you and your entire family to do just that through the Summer Reading Program, June 6 - August 6, 2011.
Libraries across the nation offer Summer Reading Program to encourage and reward people of every age for reading. Each year a new theme is chosen to emphasize ways in which reading expands minds and fosters imagination. This year's themes are "One World, Many Stories" for children, "You Are HERE" for teens and "Novel Destinations" for adults.
The Bay County Library System is very excited to offer a wide variety of prizes, giveaways, performances and events. While supplies last, everyone who signs up will receive the newly designed earth-friendly book bag, courtesy of the Friends of the Bay County Libraries.
To encourage children, they offer checkpoint coupons. Complete your log by August 6 and you'll be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Children have the option to earn more entries by completing as many additional reading logs as they want! There's also a Design-A-Bookmark Contest for preschool-6th grade. Teens and adults aren't left out.
In addition to awesome crafts, workshops and performers, teens who complete their logs have the chance to win one of five Apple iPods! With the record number of adults joining the program each year, a great lineup of workshops and crafts are scheduled at each branch. Finishers are entered into a drawing to win one of twenty gift cards!
