Do-All, Inc and FinancialEdge Community Credit Union have teamed up to provide a training program for people with disabilities.

Do-$ave branch will teach money handling and personal finance skills to the trainees as part of 12 week rotation.

Not only do trainees get to work the Do-$ave branch, but all trainees are invited to open an account so that they can participate in learning to do banking, budgeting and other personal finance education. "Providing easy access to financial services and tools to help trainees learn basic money management skills will help enhance the assistance we already provide to trainees," said Chris Girard, CEO of Do-All.

FinancialEdge and Do-All will celebrate the partnership with a ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday, September 23, 2011. At the ceremony, the Michigan Credit Union Foundation will present FinancialEdge with a check for $5,000 to help underwrite the project's efforts to bring affordable financial services and personal finance education to trainees through the Do-All facility. FinancialEdge is one of the Michigan Credit Union Foundation 2011 recipients of Community Reinvestment Initiative (CRI) grant - a program which supports credit union community outreach initiatives.

"As a credit union, we strive to help make our community a better place to live and work" commented FinancialEdge CEO, Jeremy Coberley. "Our focus is not just to provide financial services, but to enable credit union members to develop a relationship with the credit union that serves as a personal finance resource. Unique programs such as the Do-$ave branch create opportunities for businesses and credit unions to work toward a common goal."

The ribbon cutting and Grand Opening of Do-$ave will take place at 1:00pm, Friday September 23, 2011 at 1400 S. Lincoln Ave in Bay City. Facility tours, refreshments and giveaways will take place immediately following.

Do-All, Inc. (Mission Statement) "We believe that all individuals should be able to live, work and play in their community. With this belief in mind, Do-All will assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency through leadership, empowerment, material supports and employment training."
