It is exciting to share the latest news regarding the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee. Our 4th grader from St. John School not only won the Regional competition as reported in last month?s Phenomena, she was the runner up in the State Competition, competing with 4th through 6th graders! We are so proud of her accomplishment.

Registration is moving along at a rate very comparable to last year. We know it will be picking up steam with Easter/Easter Break behind us. New enrollments are welcome --- please help spread the word.

A wonderful after school activity began at Holy Trinity School in February. Art Club was established and is led by downtown?s Studio 23 art teacher, Angela Griebe, a 1980 All Saints alumna. Some topics the children have explored thus far are contour drawing, one point perspective, and 3-D pictures with optical illusions. Who knows where our children?s talents lie until they have such opportunities to develop them?

The third combined Mass of this school year for BACS elementary schools was celebrated on March 21 at St. Maria Goretti. Once again, the participation was great as the children raised their voices together in song and prayer. Special thanks to Sr. Ginny Scally and Fr. George Serour for their parts in making it a memorable liturgy.

Winter athletics are behind us and spring sports are well underway. All Saints? Poms finished 4th in the Class C-D State Competition at Eastern Michigan University. The Girls Bowling team made history by becoming the first ever Conference Co-Champions. Congratulations to each of the young women on these teams. Congratulations as well to All Saints? 8th grade boys basketball team who won the regular season championship and finished as runner up in the conference tournament. We are also pleased to announce that club baseball has been initiated for our All Saints middle school athletes.

All Saints Middle & High School was honored early last month with the Chamber of Commerce?s Ambassador Club Brick Award, in recognition of the $1.1 million building improvements that were done last summer, funded entirely by donors through the Legacy of Faith Campaign. The Brick Award was developed ?to recognize the contribution a business makes to the community when it constructs, expands, or renovates its facility.?

Catholic Federal Credit Union has extended their Refer a Member Promotion (aka the Cupcake Promotion) into April. If a current CFCU member refers a new member, the new member, the referring person AND one of our Catholic schools of their choice will each receive $10. What an easy and creative way to assist our schools. We appreciate it!
