VNO's Kicks Off Fall 2014 IDOL -- Great Turnout!

Another smash hit for Michigan Idol.

Michigan Idol, that has been around the West Side of Bay City, for almost seven years may look like a karaoke contest but it has spawned the careers the likes of Steve Armstrong, Dani Vitany as well as a handful of similar artists.

Michigan Idol Judge Hairball John feels the same way about the competition. "Even though karaoke equipmen is available for the contestants to use, this is NOT a karaoke contest," said Hairball John during the first week at VNO's. "We are looking for true talent in every sense of the word from people that are striving to make a career out of music and recognize Michigan Idol as a valuable stepping stone towards that achieving that goal." said Hairball John

Master of Ceremonies and event organizer, Josh Sharrow (Last Choice Country) was also pleased with the opening night at VNO's. "Greg & Peggy Kimbrue, (Owners of VNO's) have really turned this place into a great venue for music of all kinds," said Sharrow.

Hairball went on to explain how the competition was a "great mix of talent representing a wide variety of music genres."

"There were contestants that most definitely belonged on stage with a microphone in their hands and others that should only be allowed on stage with a broom in their hands to sweep up at the end of the night." said Hairball John.

"It was a great first night," said Greg Kimbrue. "it was a great group to start the contesthere at VNO's Kimbrue added. a'I look forward to the next 7 weeks," he said.
