Here's suds in yur eye!

Discriminating beer drinkers soon will have more, and more authentic, choices for German beer -- thanks to a new type of can.

That means the beer in these cans comes direct from the brewery in Germany -- specifically Eibauer Schwarzbier -- rather than being brewed in the U.S. and labeled as German beer.

Prost! As the gang at Bay City's new German Club meeting at the Stein Haus (where else?) shout.

Closure Systems International (CSI) has introduced a new application for its plastic can closures. The closure is now also available for select metal beer can packaging.

The new type of closure, called "MB-Lok mini," is being applied to two liter beer cans developed by German can manufacturer, Kleemann.

This kind of news will certainly excite the gourmet quaffers among us. Who knows? It may lead to real Guinness becoming available to Irish oriented tipplers in the U.S.

Certain Eibauer brand beers are available in this convenient package, which is mainly targeted toward the Asian market.

This multi-serve packaging format allows consumers around the world to enjoy and share authentic German beer in 250 milliliter to two liter beer can formats.

The CSI MB-Lok mini closure assures reseal-ability for future use, and its oxygen scavenging liner protects product integrity and freshness. The closure incorporates a patented 'bead-behind-the-wing' tamper band for consumer security.

CSI offers brewers of cold-filled malt beverages a total packaging solution, including superior application performance, quick-change capper conversions and expert technical service.

Good things come to those who wait . . . this proverb proved true in 1810 when a brewing license was assigned to the Eibau Country Brewery. Originally, beer was a nutritious ingredient of a soup and Eibauer Schwarzbier (dark beer) - a full-bodied, highly digestible beer - dates back to that time.

As legend has it, a Zittau monk, who had to brew the beer, indulged in that culinary delight and whiled away his time in the malt house.

What is more, his mouth-to-mouth advertising made the beer well-known in the area and since then Eibauer Schwarzbier has been one of the oldest and most popular dark beers in Germany. The brewery now is very modern enterprise, spoiling customer palates with the finest beers. Please visit www.eibauer.de.
