The Edson, in tow of tug Colonel, was in the Detroit River Sunday afternoon and was expected to reach the Saginaw River at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The Dossin Marine Museum's Detroit River webcam followed the pair of vessels on their trip and former Bay City official Rob Anderson said he saw the ship from the window of his 30th floor apartment along the river in Detroit. Anderson now is a redevelopment official in the City of Detroit.

The tug and tow were traveling 6.1 knots in Lake Huron, although earlier passage was described as "very slow transit" by port watchers.

Michael Folsom has posted photos of the Colonel and Edson on his website www.theshipwatcher.com and is tracking the progress of the pair to Bay City. Boatnerd.com also is posting updated information on the voyage on a regular basis.
