"And suddenly you know: It's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings." - Meister Eckhart

If you live in The Great Lakes Bay Region at any point in the last 18 years, you know Dennis Beson. Beson has been the front man for the ever so popular, local sensation, "The Sinclairs Band" for as long as most can remember.

The Sinclairs Band is an energy driven, well dressed, extremely talented, fun, upbeat and choreographed group of local musicians. In October 2014 Beson announced on his Facebook page that he would be retiring from the group in December. Beson recently performed his final local show at Bay Lanes on December 13th. December 13, 2014, a day so important, that Bay City Mayor Chris Shannon, made an official proclamation to be Dennis Beson Day.

"This past weekend could not have been anymore special. Thanks to all the guys that have played music with me throughout my career. Guys that I consider my friends and hope to always have that special bond." said Beson.

"Thank you also to the many establishments and events that have booked us and given me your professional courtesy over the years." said Beson. One of those local establishments, The Willew Lounge, is sad to see Beson retire. "Dennis always brought the party with his no bars held dancing while belting out the tunes!" said Willew owner Scott MacKenzie.

Although Beson will play his final Sinclairs "gig" on New Years Eve at The Doherty Hotel in Clare, The Sinclairs band will continue on without their fearless leader. "I sincerely hope you continue to follow and support The Sinclairs Band as they will be bringing the same over the top effort to entertain and bring you smiles and good times." Beson added.

The original Sinclairs Band included three members and no plans to play out in front of any crowds. In 1997 Greg Bever, Ken Gloss, and Rod Loomis got together as friends who wanted to have some fun rehashing the tunes they grew up with from the 60's. The idea was to mess around with some of the songs that were great but didn't get as much airplay as other songs of the time.

It wasn't long that these three musicians decided to run an ad for a singer/keyboard player at various local music stores. A young guy of 28 years old with a desire to sing in a band came to a practice one night. Dennis Beson answered the ad and from that night on the band began to evolve.

Beson showed up at the door of Greg Bever's house with a borrowed keyboard and amp from Herter Music Center where he worked and had managed to learn 3 songs for the audition. The three songs were, "Ninety Six Tears", "For Your Love", and "Wholly Bully". Dennis didn't really know any of the songs all that well, and it was a struggle to play and sing at the same time, but the guys all decided that he was worth keeping around. It wasn't until a year of so into the project that Greg Bever decided to purchase a wireless microphone for Beson and let him "Go Get" the crowd.

Fast forward almost 18 years later and Beson will step down from the Front Man position and focus on simplifying his life. Beson may be stepping down from The Sinclair's but will remain an active supporter of live and local music the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Beson will "ride off into the sunset", but his mark on the local music scene will not go un-noticed.
