CEO Mark Litten Announces Success for The Future is Now Campaign

Mark Litten, CEO of Bay Future, Inc., the public/private economic development agency, announced the organization has surpassed its fundraising goal.

"The generosity of our community has been strongly evidenced by The Future is Now! campaign surpassing the original goal of $1.2 million, ending with a pledge total of $1,239,430 with additional pledges pending!" said Litten. "In a challenging economic environment, Bay County has made the decision to determine and create its own successful economic destiny.

"Our community owes special thanks to a group of individuals who made time in their busy schedules to secure our community's future. These leaders made the difference by leading the way with their "hands-on" help. Thank you!"

Campaign leaders included: Tim Boutell, president & CEO, Firehouse Soft Car Washes, Boutell Enterprises; James Fabiano, president & CEO, Fabiano Brothers, Inc.; Rick Finn, Bay City manager; Mark Flegenheimer, president & CEO, Michigan Sugar Co.; Mitzi Dimitroff, president, RDS Management; Mary Kulis, area manager, Consumers Energy; Walter Stozak, community president-Bay, Chemical Bank; Marc Labadie, president & CEO, Labadie Auto Co.; and Dominic Monastiere, executive-in-residence, Saginaw Valley State University.

"In addition to our campaign success, we've been busy working on several projects, said Mr. Litten. "One of The Future Is Now strategic goals is to bring a small business incubator to Bay City. On August 12, Central Michigan University Research Corp. announced an expansion of its business incubator in Bay City."

Also, BFI is collaborating with Saginaw Future, Midland Tomorrow, MEDC, Michigan Works, and other state & private agencies to assist dislocated employees find new employment. A job portal has been established for candidates.

Any company with current full-time opportunities wishing to gain access to the Portal that resides in Midland or the Great Lakes Bay Region should be forwarded to Midland Tomorrow and Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works!
