Frankenmuth PedAle Trolley owners, Jeff Schmitzer and Brandon Schmitzer, announce the purchase of Bay City, Michigan, Sunrise Pedal Trolley.

"When we heard Bay City's trolley attraction was for sale, we were eager to "jump on board". The alliance between PedAle and Sunrise was an easy decision. Sunrise is an established and well-liked recreation in Bay City. Jeff and I felt it necessary to continue the service for the community. Knowing our Frankenmuth PedAle Trolley is just a startup, less than a year old, we believe we can use the success of Sunrise to influence the furtherance of PedAle," said Brandon Schmitzer.

Sunrise Pedal Trolley owner, Ashley Anderson sought buyers for the business in early November 2017, so that she could pursue other interests. Sunrise has been in business since 2014.

Sunrise has two 15-person pedal-powered trolleys. These metal-framed canopied trolley bikes are imported from the Netherlands and have become popular tourist attractions throughout the United States.

Trolleys run early Spring through late Fall. In addition, Sunrise Pedal Trolley offers a circle cruiser where groups of six can cycle throughout historic Bay City and its downtown.

Both PedAle and Sunrise offer daily city tours and pub crawls. All tours can be tailored for specific stops along the routes. Both businesses offer private party and corporate rentals.

All booked tours for the 2018 calendar year will be honored and all previously advertised tour routes and stops will remain without interruption. Current Sunrise staff is looking forward to the new season and ownership. Josh Sharrow will be returning as the manager for the Bay City operation.

Bay City Sunrise Pedal Trolley will kickoff their season on March 18, 2018, for the Bay City St. Patrick's Day Parade. Users can call (989)391-9028 to book the trolley for the event.

Frankenmuth PedAle Trolley will start their season Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018.
