Bay City Health & Fitness is the Place For Me
Bay City Health & Fitness
Mary's First Day At The Gym
I spoke with 10 health clubs and gyms in Bay City over the last couple of weeks. I walked into some, and called the others. Most places were friendly, and offered some of what I was looking for.
I almost felt like "Goldie Locks" on my hunt for the perfect gym. Some gyms had reasonable membership prices, but not enough availability. Some had availability, but no guidance. And some seemed great, but way to expensive. However I did find one health club, I mean gym, to be outright offensive.
When I called or stopped into gyms and health clubs, I made the same statement to everyone. I am an overweight mom, and I want to lose my extra baby weight. This outrageously offensive gym owner responded to me with the following:
"This is not a frilly gym. If you want to go to a frilly gym go to (the he named off a few gyms and health clubs). We are a get ripped gym here at **."
I asked the gentleman "Do you have any programs for woman?"
He responded "No, well I have some cardio machines.?"
Then I asked about guidance. He told me this: "If I train you its $50 an hour, and if I give you some advice its $20 or $30 depending on what I show you."
I thought that was absolutely ridiculous! And what exactly does a frilly gym mean? Is cardio supposed to only be for woman? I was a bit disgusted and discouraged.
At this point in my health club search I almost gave up, but then I stopped into Bay City Health & Family Fitness. The guys Brian Ross and Jerry Konefko who own the health club are real down to earth people. They were nice to me, and really understood what I was looking for.
I didn't feel intimidated when I went for a trial visit to their Health Club. I saw an equal number of men and woman ages roughly ranging from 12 yrs old to 80. It truly is a family orientated atmosphere. Anyone can join.
Bay City Health & Family Fitness offers everything I am looking for. My membership is under $30 a month. They are open 24hrs a day 7 days a week, which means it is always available all the time. I don?t have to rearrange my day to fit a work out in; I go when it is convenient for me.
Also a HUGE plus, Mike DePrekel who is a trainer at Bay City Health & Family Fitness puts together health programs for its members. Mike DePrekel is a certified exercise physiologist with a degree in Exercise Science from Lake Superior State University. He has a creditable resume to go along with his credentials.
I feel confident with the help from Bay City Health & Family Fitness, that I will be able to fit back into my old jeans.
