"Mission Impossible: Fallout" is a fun movie.
To me, it dragged a tiny bit at one point and I thought it was ending. Then, bam, it fired up and was zooming on again. It is intense. There are a couple of expected outcomes but most are twists.
The regulars: Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Angela Bassett are great. The addition of Henry Cavill and Rebecca Ferguson worked just fine.
The plot revolves around trying to retrieve plutonium from a group called The Apostles. Of course, there is Tom Cruise running, falling, driving, sliding and jumping. (He actually broke an ankle in a jump and filming was held up for 6 weeks.)
Cruise is starting to show his age in his face, he's 56. After all, Cavill is about the same age now as Cruise was when he starred in his first "MI" movie back in 1996.
This movie has humor, danger, and excitement. The acting is good. The story is great. It's actually pretty much a sequel to the last "MI" movie. The director, Christopher McQuarrie, is the same and he does an excellent job.
So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
