We saw "The Mule" with Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper, Dianne Weist, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Pena. Excellent movie.
It's about a horticulturist Earl Stone, played by Eastwood, who is a neglectful family man. Eventually, his daylily farm is foreclosed on and he is off to make a living some other way.
He tries to reconnect with his family but due to his neglect, they want nothing to do with the 90-year-old man. He unwittingly gets hired as a mule for a drug cartel. Cooper and Pena are the Special FBI Agents who are trying to make any kind of a drug arrest. Fishburne is their boss. Andy Garcia is the head of the cartel. Alison Eastwood is his real-life daughter and his daughter in the film.
It is based on a true story. The acting is great. The directing by Eastwood is his typical best. There is just enough humor to keep it a little light. It is R-rated so expect a little nudity and four-letter words.
Excellent movie. Most of my friends and myself said they'd see it again.
So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
