Hello Dave,
I served aboard Edson from 1968 to 1970 and made one "WESTPAC" trip on her. I'm to know I'm one of many who would to see her as a museum and have been to her sister ship the USS Turner Joy DD951 in Bremerton, Washington. I know also that yes, It's true I may be approaching "Geezerdom" but would still love to "sail" her to the new homeport. Have a great Navy day, Shipmate! Doug |

I served on Edson from '68 - '72. It was the finest ship I served on in my 22 year career in the U.S. Navy. I'll bet you that P.A. Miller (BTCM) and M.F. Minor (MMCM) could still light the fires and answer the turns to take that fine ship to Bay City. I would be happy to provide any gunfire support necessary for the trip. I'm certain Captain John Holmes would volunteer as the pilot. He took the ship to a lot of places in much more hostile environments.
