Slavery was a "side bar' to the Civil War. The real cause was the South's determination to "break away" from the Union which could not be tolerated than anymore than today!

Dave,
I read and found something new that is very interesting. I believe the material you presented to be quite fair and true. I hope you follow up on this subject. Well done old friend. D.D. Woods PS I wonder if something like this could happen today, in another form but the same results? |

Just finished browsing the Facebook page for The Forgotten Cause of the Civil War: A New Look at the Slavery Issue. White slavery in theory and reality provides a perspective on the war that is little addressed and little understood. I am the author of The Forgotten Cause and must commend Dave Rogers on a fine review of my 25 years of research.
