I agree and it was Congress that passed the law requiring that children from countries other than Canada and Mexico not be deported but be shelter and, if possible, be sent to relatives in the US. Apparently Congresswoman Miller is closing to ignore that law.

What a shame on all of us!! I listen to the interviews on WNEM and all the arguments the people seem to make are non starters. The people from Wolverine have already said that the children (and that's what they are--children) will be housed at Wolverine, fed at Wolverine, taught at Wolverine, etc. They have forgotten what the Statue of Liberty stands for--I dare say if we applied their standards back when the protesters' ancestors came to the US none of them would be here today!!

So when did the little community of Vassar become part of the border crises in Arizona & Texas. This community should be ashamed of them selves. For what ever reason the last time I checked the entire state of Michigan is full of immigrants my family included. They probably don't have any mirrors in their community to have to look them selves in the face and feel any guilt. Class act in that community that's for sure

I do not think that the people of Vassar should be ashamed. They have every right to protest the placement of illegal immigrants, whether adult or children. I do not feel sorry for these children - their parents allowed them to travel here and weren't too concerned for their safety. Because they may have been mistreated, we now have to care for them. The statue of Liberty stands for LEGAL immigration. It does not stand for people running over our borders. If you want to come here, go through the proper channels.

Hey Dave - How many of these immigrant kids are you gonna take into your house?

How can any country have such an asinine immigration policy as the US does and survive as a sovereign nation? Short answer: They can't. Nobody should be 'released' within the populace of this country. Nobody. It is beyond stupid to do so.

Change the Law that 'all' without papers are turned away at the border or held in Custody until their individual asylum case is adjudicated.

No Taxpayers Dollars should be sent to any nation to dissuade or encourage immigrants. Spend those dollars here in our country on enforcement of our immigration Laws.

Persons illegally entering the USA illegally shall be barred forever from re-entering for any purpose.

Right now Mexico is granting these people 'transit' visas to cross Mexico to illegally enter the USA. Turn them back into Mexico and make them Mexico's problem. I promise you, do 'that' and the very next day Mexico will seal its southern border.

The people in Vassar are within their rights to protest ILLEGAL immigrants coming to their town. If we don't send these ILLEGALS back, it is telling more parents to send their kids this way. Do I feel bad for them that their quality of life is poor? Yes I do. But where is the USA going to come up with billions of dollars to take care of these ILLEGALS? We are already TRILLIONS in debt and it grows every day.

If you want to look at who IGNORES the principles this once great country of ours was founded on, look to the WHITE HOUSE. "President" Obama does what he wants even though many things he does are against the law. Let's get things straightened out at the top, then we can work down from there are restore the greatness this country once had.
