Presenting the Bangor Central Elementary School graduating Class of 2008!

Monday, fifth grade students from Bangor Central Elementary had their D.A.R.E Graduation Ceremony and prepared to move on to middle school with the tools to deflect the pressure of drugs and alcohol.

Present was Deputy Timothy J. Smith, who takes time throughout the year to teach children the dangers of what drugs and alcohol can do to one physically and emotionally and to those around them as well. Deputy Smith is passionate about educating children throughout the area on such dangers and what he offers to these children will last a lifetime.

The ceremony began with the Pledge of Allegiance presented by students Cain McCulloh, Alexis Hill, Drake Fruit, Samantha Newcomb, Kaylyn Rainey and James Jacobs.

Students then had the opportunity to read their pledges, "Taking a Stand" which describe how they will fend off drugs and alcohol in middle school.

Other special guests were Sheriff Miller and Superintendent, Tina Kerr. Bangor Central Elementary Principal, Diana Tuttle and fifth grade graduating class teachers, Mrs. Heckerthorn and Mrs. Luck were also present!
