Rock-N-Wheel's Goes Electric July 18th and 19th! The annual festival will have a new location this year, right in the heart of downtown Bay City at the Wenonah Park! Previous years the Rock-N-Wheel's Festival was held in Auburn.

This festival has brought music lovers to the state of Michigan from 150 cities and 19 other states!

The entertainment this year will be moving as well ... into another generation. The festival previously featured artists from the late 50's to the early 60's, however, this year, they will feature artists from the late 60's and early 70's.

The music climate of the late sixties and seventies was characterized by the heavy sounds and sentiments that reflected the revolutionary attitudes of the generation.

ROCK-N-WHEEL'S FESTIVAL 2008

FRIDAY: July 18: Janis Joplin's Original Band "BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY"

Evolving out of the San Francisco rock scene of the mid-1960's, Big Brother was in the forefront of the psychedelic music movement. Big Brother invited Janis Joplin to join the band after hearing her perform a couple of songs in an old firehouse back in 1964. In 2006 the band released their first live recording since 1968's "Live At Winterland". The new live CD, "Hold Me" is the focus of their world tour for their 40th anniversary!

SATURDAY: July 19: "IRON BUTTERFLY"

Iron Butterfly was signed to ATCO records (a division of Atlantic Records) in the spring of 1967 and released their first album, aptly titled Heavy the following winter. In 1968 they released the monumental LP, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida which had over eight million copies sold and outgrew the standard music industry's "Gold Album" award. For this achievement, Iron Butterfly was subsequently awarded the industry's very first "Platinum Album" award.

Iron Butterfly is now working on a new album and touring once again!

Gates open at 5:00 p.m., featuring music at 7:00 p.m.
