"May you always walk in sunshine, may you never want for more, may Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door"

The State Theatre was definitely the place to be Sunday! The lights were dim, dresses sparkling like Crystal and the smiles were plentiful inside the theatre for the 55th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade Queens Pageant. This year the pageant included a "Princess" category as well!

The event began with a presentation of colors by Bishop Murphy Assembly Color Corps, followed by the National Anthem and other ballads sang by Judge Timothy J. Kelly. Helen Salois was the 2009 Parade Marshal. A collaboration of Irish musical entertainment performed by Steven Gallagher and Pat Trahn set the mood for this fabulous annual event.

Each contestant competed in an Ireland talent and an on-stage question interview, which combined, counted for seventy percent of their overall score. The Evening Wear Competition counted as the remaining thirty percent.

The questions/answer portion of the competition was hosted by 2008 St. Patrick's Day Queen, Lauren Moore

WOW! Excellent coverage Marlo! You were pretty enough to be the queen Sunday. Keep it up

When will the Buzz show featuring the pageant air? I heard the Mistresses say it but forgot, thanks

The article was nice to read but you have one part wrong the service with Helen Salois is at Holy Triniy Church at 1008 S Wenona at 4:30 not on Third Street. I should know this because she is my mother and we are very proud of her. Just thought you should know.
Thank-You
