Cleanup Day is April 18

The annual Mayor's Clean-Up Day is set for April 18th! Mayor Charles Brunner is asking residents to help keep our community clean and city officials are making sure residents have the tools they will need to do so!

Residents will have the opportunity to drop off household debris for free from 9:00a.m. until 3:00p.m., all in an effort to keep streets and homes looking beautiful.

"Mayor Brunner is really big on cleaning up the city and is offering to help residents by providing dumpsters throughout the city," said Debbie Kiesel, Redevelopment Coordinator for the City of Bay City.

Dumpsters will be set up at four locations around the city to receive materials from Bay City residents only. The locations are as follows:

* Fisher Street parking lot (612 E. Fisher Street)

* Cass Avenue Boat Launch (620 Harrison Street)

* Defoe Park (601 Marquette Avenue)

* City Hall employee parking lot (301 Saginaw Street)

Acceptable materials include furniture, mattresses/box springs, carpet, toys, bicycles, barbecue grills and pipe, not exceeding 3' in length.

Items NOT accepted include appliances, batteries, barrels or drums, bricks, bullets or shells, car parts, combustible materials, commercial or contractor waste, concrete, dirt, food waste, gas cylinders, liquid and hazardous waste, paint cans, rocks, steel pipe, toxic materials, tree stumps and yard waste.

Residents may take all appliances to Stambaugh Appliance located at 408 Columbus Avenue from 9:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. for proper disposal at no charge.

E-waste (computers, monitors, televisions, cell phones, DVD players, fax machines and more) is accepted at The Cat's Meow located at 1465 W. Center Road from 9:00a.m. until 3:00pm. at no charge.

This program is for Bay City residents only. You will need to show proof of residency by drivers license and/or your city utility bill. The Mayor's Annual Clean-Up Day will take place rain or shine!
