The professional anglers came out competing in the inaugural Anglers Insight Marketing Saginaw Bay Walleye Tournament this past weekend. The brand new festival drew quite a crowd for it's first year!

Professional anglers were very satisfied with the "catch-record-release" system and believe it will definitely be the way of the future.

Brumbaugh and other anglers participating in the tournament used digital cameras to record their catches, transmitting them back to the tournament's headquarters in Veteran's Memorial Park in downtown Bay City. The fish were then released back into the bay. The three-day fishing extravaganza in Vets Park featured a sport and outdoor expo, boat test rides, hands-on activities for kids and opportunities to meet and mingle with professional walleye anglers.

The weekend activities also featured a Celebrity Chowder Challenge of which MyBayCity.com took second place, judge's choice!

The Anglers Insight Marketing, or AIM, is an angler-run circuit in its first season. The digital photographs and electronic weigh-ins are part of the circuit's "green fishing" initiative. Photographs of fish caught are converted to pounds for electronic weigh-ins conducted at the end of each day's competition. Most anglers Friday weighed virtual "baskets" of seven walleye totaling about 20 pounds. Complete results are available here: AIM Leader board Results

Forty five of professional walleye fishing's most prominent anglers were involved in the tournament, which awards a first prize of a whopping $27,000!

Highlights of the BayFest festival included nightly entertainment in the Vets Park beer tent, sponsored by Miller Lite! The Sinclairs, Steele Wheels and Bob Hughes delighted the crowd Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Sunday, the BayFest Shoot-out Pro-Am was featured where twenty-five lucky fishermen got a chance to fish with the pros on the Saginaw River for a chance to win a top prize of $1,000.
