To me, there is nothing better than Michigan summers! The smell of a barbecue, the sound of a bat hitting a baseball out of the park, the sights of fresh vegetables growing in my garden or flowers blooming all bring me back to growing up here in beautiful Bay City Michigan!

Please enjoy as I share with you, summer through my eyes, ears and nose! Have a safe and happy summer, it takes too long to get here and goes too fast when it finally arrives . . . sit back and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of summer 2009!

The above photos are flowers blooming at my parent's home as well as my own! See those yellow flowers on my tomato plants? I cannot wait to bite into a warm ripe one freshly picked soon!

Yummo! During the summer months, my dad always gets out his fryer for fresh cut French fries! The only ones I'll eat! Homemade beef jerky smoking in the background and steaks on the grill, gotta love summertime!

Our favorite, fast, easy and refreshing summer pie recipe:

LEMONADE ICE BOX PIE

1 (6 oz.) frozen lemonade

1 Eagle brand milk

1 (12 oz.) Cool Whip

2 graham cracker pie crust

Allow lemonade to thaw. Combine lemonade and milk. Fold in Cool Whip. Put mixture in 2 pie crust. Store in freezer for an "ice-creamish" summer delight!

How did my basket on my bike get ruined? Kids!

I made homemade salsa for my family on Monday evening and arrived home from work on Tuesday to my children selling not only lemonade, but my homemade salsa as well! I'll have to can again in the fall I guess!

This Miller Lite gem is over 20 years old and still going strong! One of the first things we do when summer begins is take it down to Vet's park at 6am on a Saturday morning and ride ride ride!

This little lady came to visit for the homemade salsa and lemonade and spent the entire day on or by the stand! I was so proud of my boys, they worked for over 12 hours on that stand! Stamina, determination and sales stature is definitely in their blood.

This is like "smellovision" over the internet. The grill, smoker, flowers, salsa, lemonade, thanks for sharing. Summer does go way too fast you remind us to enjoy it.
