The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission (GSRM) in Bay City plans to serve over 8,600 Thanksgiving and Christmas meals this holiday season.
The GSRM's mission is to express God's love by reaching out to the hurting and home less of Bay area by providing shelter and care, by developing a community of support, and by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.
According to Dan Streeter, Mission Director, the Mission not only provides shelter, but ministers life-changing hope through their comprehensive programs, to get homeless back on their feet.
GSRM which is located at 713 9th Street in Bay City (formerly the Good Samaritan Hospital). It was evolved from the Saginaw Rescue Mission.
Saginaw Mission's success of meeting people needs eventually led to the establishment of GSRM in Bay City. Today GSRM is able to provide emergency shelter for men, women and children, services range from basic shelter to Christian discipleship, to supportive services for men and women who are entering the job market.
The GSRM facility has 40,000 square feet which includes a chapel with a capacity of 99 and a Men's Shelter which opened Feb 26, 2008.
