Both teams entered the contest with five wins and looking to stay in the Greater Thumb race. USA's pressure defense and aggressive attacking of the net put them out front all game. All Saints climbed back into the contest with a solid third quarter but the Patriots capitalized on the Cougars cold outside shooting to run away with a 73-48 win.

The game opened with a very fast paced non-stop period. USA's zone defense kept the Cougars bottled up for most of the period preventing them from getting good shots. All Saints moved the ball well but USA was there preventing any open shots. The Patriots looked to drive the basket at every opportunity. As the period progressed, a three point basket by Aaron Villano opened up the Cougar offense. But the strong attack on the basket put USA up 21-15.

All Saints struggled shooting to start the second period. Thanks in part to the quick defensive hands of USA, the Patriots created turnovers to vault them ahead. The period was capped off when USA's Jake Beachy hit a buzzer beater three pointer to send the Patriots into the locker room up 40-23.

The Saints exploded out of the locker room using tight ball hawking defense to get them back into the game. The tight pressure created turnovers and prevented USA from attacking the basket. Sprinkling in a couple three pointers and All Saints had climbed back into the contest. The Cougars finished off the period with a steal and a lay up as the third period horn sounded narrowing the score to 53-44.

The period break gave USA time to regroup as the emerged with a 9-2 run to start the fourth quarter. This forced the Cougars to turn to the three point shots which they did with little success. USA's strength inside prevented any second chance shots as well as allowing them to go back on the attack. The Patriots held All Saints to only four points in the quarter while posting twenty of their own as they rolled to a 73-48 Greater Thumb Conference win.
