Usual time at the Country Club
There was no scheduled program for June 11, 2013. The club held its regular business meeting then enjoyed a time of fellowship.
Being a board meeting day,
President Kim held her final auction of her term in office. This time she auctioned off "Kim's Klub", a large metal Rotary Wheel which she had purchased at International Night from the Pinconning Club. The sign shows the signs of wear so it surely hung at the entrance to some town or village for many years.
The sign drew a robust bidding war and was eventually sold to Chris Girard for $75. Everyone expects to see that sign show up somewhere. Chris agreed that he has some plan for its display. Proceeds go to Deb Lutz' charity of choice, Delta College's Possible Dreams Scholarship program.
Following Kim's auction, veteran member
Harry Farris too the mic to auction off a true antique... an original poster of Farrah Fawcett. He said this poster had hung in his house for years but Harry has recently remarried and moved to his wife's house. He said the poster had to go. Unfortunately the poster brought only $10. Harry's new wife, who was his guest at the meeting, seemed satisfied with the sale.

CLUB NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tim Holsworth says "remember the
golf outing at the Bay City Country Club on June 24". He read the list of sponsors but noted that he has only one sheet of names and organizations. "
We're a TWO SHEET OUTING", he said, then encouraged other sponsors to step forward soon.
At this time the larger sponsors include:
Covenant Health Care is the title sponsor,
Wildfire Credit Union is the TV sponsor,
McLaren Bay Special Care is the mulligan sponsor,
Bay Eye Care is the new 19th hole sponsor. The names of twenty additional sponsors were read as well.
Hole sponsors are only $25, so there is a way for everyone to participate!
Linda Heemstra announced that the
Flat Screen TV Auction tickets have all been distributed for members to sell. This is a great opportunity and everyone is encouraged to purchase a ticket! Again this year, Wildfire Credit Union is sponsoring the 43 inch plasma HD TV.
Reminder that the club will again man the
Tall Ships Welcome Tents when the ships return this summer. Talk to
Nancy Greve if you want to participate in this "premier" event of the summer.
