The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.
Buddy the Elf

I spent Sunday afternoon, in my pajamas and watched the movie 'Elf'. The holiday season may now officially begin.

Now, my regular readers know I do not cook. Which also means I do not bake.

No hours spent rolling out dough, sprinkling sprinkles or frosting Santa shaped cookies. My son the health nut, doesn't eat much sugar and I would feel obligated to not let treats go to waste, if they happened to be hanging around my kitchen counter. Which MY waistline does not need.

I also don't mess around with a big tree.

I have a small pre-decorated one that gets carried up from the basement and plugged in. It's tiny, but pretty and it serves its purpose.

We place our gifts around it's minuscule base, which in turn helps our gift bundles look that much more impressive. As far as holiday lights go, I change the bulbs on my front and side porches to green and we are good to go.

We are definitely no competition for Bronner's..or The Griswold's.

But, I love holiday movies.

They are my yearly indulgence and I save them to watch the week just before Christmas. They put me in the spirit of good cheer like nothing else can.

They remind me of my own childhood and they remind me of when my son was young. They remind me to cherish family gatherings to come and the spirit of the season. Marathon movie watching sessions are my treat this time of year and give me the chance to sit back, relax and have a laugh and a smile.

The world in its diversity may mean your celebration could be different than ours. But, in whatever manner you choose to honor this time of year, my wish for you is that your days be merry and bright.

And go ahead, sing loud for all to hear.
