If your New Year's resolution is to lose weight, you like a challenge and want to help a great organization, consider joining in on the 'Biggest Loser' fundraiser event.
'Touched By An Angel' was formed after Terry Reid, sister of Lori Migut, succumbed to lung cancer in 2006. She was only 57 years old.
According to Lori, since then, Terry's 3 children, 11 grand-children and many extended family members and friends have since been actively involved as the 'Touched By An Angel' team.
Their fundraising is an annual and ongoing tribute to her sister, for the American Cancer Society and the Bay County Relay For Life, held in July. Last year their team raised over $6000.00.
This year's event is the 'Biggest Loser' weight loss challenge which runs from January 1st-June 30th.
The person that loses the highest percentage of weight, will win half of the amount of dollars taken in by participants. The other half of proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life.
The entry fee is $20 and you may get a weigh-in at your local doctor's office or by contacting Lori to set up a weigh-in time and date.
Also, a weigh-in is scheduled for January 10th, 2012 from 7-8pm at the Lincoln Center at 820 S. Lincoln, Bay City, MI 48708.
The challenge runs until June 30, 2012 and the winner will be announced at the Bay County Relay For Life on July 21, 2012. Further weigh-in locations and dates will be announced.
