The 2014 National Paddleball Doubles Tournament was held this year in Lansing at the MAC (Michigan Athletic Club).

Two top teams from Bay City won trophies over the weekend.

In the Senior Division (35+) Chad Krager and Mike Wisniewski took top honors as they defeated San Diego's Todd Entrikin and his Ann Arbor partner Eugene Rush in a 3rd game tie-breaker.

Krager had a full weekend as he also played in the "Open Division" with fellow Bay Cityan Andrew Price. Krager-Price lost in the "Open" Finals to San Diego's Todd Entrikin and Emmet Koe 21-11, 21-11 in an explosive hard-fought match-up.

In the Golden Masters Division, (55+) the Bay City pair of Randy Wackerle and Sandy DeGreif defeated Ann Arbor's Bob Sterken and Jim Swendris in two games 21-18, 21-19. The win was the 12th National Doubles Title for Wackerle who last made it to the winner's circle at a National Tournament back in 2007. "Felt good to get to hold the trophy again," said Wackerle after the award ceremony.

Other Bay City players at the Lansing (MI) Nationals were Greg Keenan, Scott Wittbrodt and Adam Koehler.

NPA EARL RISKEY AWARD

The Earl Riskey Trophy is awarded each year in honor of the founder of the great game of paddleball. The honor goes to the person that has contributed most to the sport. In 2014, that award went to Thomas Bodary for his hard work creating the web site (PADDLEBALL.ORG) and updates to that site for the NPA. Photos...videos....etc.

NPA DIMITRI REMSBERG AWARD

The Dimitri Remsberg Trophy is awarded to a young up-coming dedicated tournament player. This year, that honor went to Bay City's Adam Koehler.

NPA HALL OF FAME

The biggie went to Bay City's Mike Wisniewski -- who holds the all-time record for National "OPEN DIVISION" Singles titles with nine (9) Wisniewski has played in an amazing 16 "OPEN DIVISION" finals during long and illustrious career.. The newly created NPA Hall of Fame (Only in its 2nd year) inducted Wisniewski as well as long-time NPA player and promoter Lou Giampetroni. Giampetroni, a retired Flint Journal newsman, has played, promoted and marketed the game of paddleball for five decades
