I seen a young panther or cougar in a tree. Crows were diving at it bringing my attention to it. I had my camera with me and zoomed in on it. When it turned its head and looked my way you can see the rounded ear unlike a house cat. Took it in to have it looked at and they said...house cat. No way! Then they told me that all the DNR officers that I needed to talk to were in another state learning about cougars. I don't think they took the time to see the rounded ear shot of my video.

This article is old. Now if you hike the trails in the southern part of sleeping bear park you will see big signs telling you that you are in "Cougar Country" and to beware

We moved to West Bloomfield approximately four-and-a-half years ago. This place is Critter City. The most prevalent species in our 'hood is white-tail deer. There are foxes, woodchucks and ginormous black crows as well.

But what really got my attention was the day, at dusk, when I drove home from the gym. I had just turned into our subdivision, off of Middlebelt and Lone Pine, when I saw what I could have sworn to be a mountain lion nipping at the heels of a buck.

I ran inside to tell my wife and she immediately said I must be tripping' because there ain't no cougars, aka, mountain lions, in Michigan.

I DO WATCH A LOT of NatGeoWild.

But, as much as I tried to convince myself I had not seen what I KNEW I HAD SEEN, I held firm and went a-Googlin' as fast as I could.

There is a cemetery right across the street from our neighborhood that would make a great hideout for this magnificent creature. Just be aware if you go to pay your respect to a loved one, there could well be a predator in your midst.

Im almost positive I saw a cougar near Genysis Hospital in Genesee county in January 2011.It was while walking on a trail near by. My boyfriend and I also experienced other incidents there around the same time. Once hearing a low growling from a wooded area while a group of deer were running around in a panic. Another incident a loud cracking noise and then seeing a large figure climbing down from a tree. This all happened in the same area over maybe a period of about 6 months.

I saw a Cougar on May 10th 2019 in Montrose Michigan. I have 40 acres and spend a lot of time in the woods and was on my way back to my house from a night in the woods when I seen the reflection of unfamiliar eyes looking at me from my headlamp about 30-40 feet away. I turned on my spotlight to see it better and sure enough it was a Cougar standing there looking right at me. I started yelling at it and it slowly started walking away until it vanished into the dark. It didn't seem scared by the presence of a human at all which is a bit disconcerting to me

Only 100 ft from house a Cougar was spotted behind the house between a barn and an open field.
At first glance it was thought to be a deer. Looking at the head it was apparent it was an unusually large cat then looking at the tail it was 60% the length of the body.
This appeared to be a very large animal at least the size of a very large dog. Maybe 150#.

Barry County Mi jan 2020 Caught a video of a cougar in the backyard. A moving branch activated cam at the extreme edge of coverage was a pair of eyes. A little enhancement showed a cougar.
