Friday was the first day for visitors to tour the Tall Ships on the Bay City River front. It was a hot and humid day, but that didn't stop the crowds. By 10:30 the crowds were gathering and everyone was enjoying the ships.

A key to the success of Bay City's Tall Ship Celebration is the great staff and the hundreds of volunteers. Even on the first full day, everyone knows their job. Even with the heat and humidity everyone is smiling and friendly.

Besides the ships, and food, and art displays, there are a number of displays on shore. The West side features a static display of canoes and antique boats. There's also a Voyageur camp with reenactors living as the early Great Lakes explorers did.
