Just for Kids!

Historic ships, beautiful wood and great white sails excite the soul... unless you're five years old. Kids need special attention and relief from long lines. The organizers of the Tall Ship Celebration know this and made sure to provide special activities on both sides of the river just for the kids.

Older kids on the West side of the river found a great bungee jump and a rock climbing wall. Younger kids found crayons and clowns and playground equipment. On the East side there was the YWCA face painting tent (always a favorite), a reading tent sponsored by the library, and a wooden ship building tent staffed by Boy Scouts. There was even a pool to float the wooden ships in once there were built. If all that was not enough there were trees and grass and hills to roll down and space to throw a frisbee.
