The game got off to a good start for Foodland. St. Stan's pitcher Xavier walked the first two Foodland batters, priming Foodland to take the lead early. But St. Stan's defense stood strong behind Xavier and made a terrific double play to take some of the pressure off their pitcher.

Foodland batter #24 Brendan smacked the ball deep into center field where it was caught and quickly thrown to second base where Lennon #18 tagged the runner who had led too far off base. Double play! The next Foodland batter hit a single and was thrown out at first.

St. Stan's went on the attack and quickly showed Foodland why St. Stan's has lost only two games this season. After watching the first batter go down swinging, Jon got himself on base with a single, but he wasn't there for long.

Josh #13 crushed the ball deep into the outfield and quickly rounded the bases until he crossed home plate. Josh's in the park home run, which brought in Jon as well, put St. Stan's up 2-0. Late in the bottom of the first inning, with two outs on the board and two strikes on the man at the plate, Lennon #18; who had gotten on base with a single, stole home to add another run to St. Stan's total. The score board stood at 3-0.

After escaping the top of the second inning unscathed, Josh struck again for St. Stan's bringing in Tanner #15 on another great hit. Jon #19 then scored off a hit from Lennon, putting St. Stan's up 4-0. Xavier's hit earned him an RBI when Josh crossed the plate to give St. Stan's a comfortable 5-0 lead.
