Why Does Victory Taste So Good?
Why is that whether you're watching sports on TV or participating in a game or a sport yourself, that the anticipation of winning is so exciting and raises your spirits.
Is it lack of self confidence or is it an improvement of self esteem. A simple game of darts, cards, or latter ball . . . Victory feels good. Does it depend on the opponent you're playing against or the partner you have. And of course, there's the agony of defeat. Are you a sore loser?
Is it a certain competition or talent that you're good at and you want to be the best. Can you really feel good about second place?? Other then winning at a game of Chutes and ladders with my niece, I think I might fall into this category. I think of myself as more of a competitive person. I don't like to lose.
Does anybody?
Ever notice how much more exciting an event is, when you know the competition?
Feeling good about another's victory and cheering them on, is a great feeling. Seeing someone be happy and seeing their joy of victory.
I don't care so much about sporting events on television anymore, yes it would be nice if my team won, however I found myself almost stressing over a recent football game, I just don't need the extra anxiety in my life. I had to stop and think, why the heck am I getting worked up about something so trivial. Stupid.
I think it's best to stick to candy-land with my nieces and nephew where I'm almost cheating to let them win, so I don't feel bad if they lose. laff
SO IN THE MEANTIME . . .
I'm sticking to the words of Tony Horton (P90X) where the motto is . . .
"DO YOUR BEST, AND FORGET THE REST!"

Hey I think it shows that if it's you that's winning then your good but when it's someone else who's doin the winning and it's someone whom you revial then it's not so good.
