It might have been a cold chilly evening outside but the atmosphere was warm and inviting inside Old City Hall (OCH) Restaurant in downtown Bay City.

Wine connoisseurs from all over the Greater Bay Area gathered for a night of wine-tasting and good cheer hosted by Treasure Hunter Wines, Ideal Party Store at Old City Hall Restaurant.

Host and Wine Broker Tom Doran of Stray Cat Wines, with help from Ideal Party Store's Jerry Crete and of course, OCH's Tony Jeske laid out a spread of Treasure Hunter Wines that had all attendees buzzing about the glorious flavors of berry and smooth finishes.

And to top off the evening, Doran introduced mega-star winemaker Mike Loykasek who graciously spoke with wine tasters and mingled with the crowd after offering a few words of introduction about his product line.

Loykasek has been was named Winemaker of the Year by the Sonoma County 2007 Harvest Fair and since that award, Loykasek has been blazing new trails throughout California . . .

Loykasek's concept is simple: take small lots of exceptional wine and put it in a package (at an affordable price) that folks can't help but notice . . . and have some fun with it along the way!

According to Doran, the concept is simple and he's spending considerable effort to get the word out about this fine assortment of wine.

Doran went on to explain that the market for expensive wines ($100/bottle) is not strong right now because of the United States economic climate.

"It's simple," said Doran. "We buy up high end surplus wine at a lower price in the Napa Valley of California and then re-bottle it for distribution under the Treasure Hunter label." Doran went on to say the average price for the Treasure Hinter wines was only $24.95. "That's a great price for one hundred dollar wine," Doran said.

Ideal Party Store's Jerry Crete agreed. "An event like this is a perfect way to introduce a wine in a community like Bay City," Crete said. "It's great exposure for the wineand we've got Treasure Hunter Wines on the shelf at Ideal Party Store," Crete added. "And don't forget to mention two locations," Crete laughed. (Johnson Street and Salzburg Locations).
