I did bookmark Vanessa's website. I just couldn't stop myself.

I only bring these words up because I got an unsolicited email from Vanessa of Cendecon Company earlier this week. Vanessa said . . . "My name is Vanessa, I am the owner of a very unique company called Cendecon -- www.cendecon.com.
Vanessa politely asked to be added to my Preferred Vendor List in case I ever needed her services.
She also asked if she could "mail a business card" for my files so I'll know exactly who to call when when I need help with Death / Suicide / Homicide / Unattended death / Decomposition/ Trauma / Accidents/ Blood / Body fluids / Urine / Feces / Vomit/ Medical Waste Pickup / Transport /Disposal / Gross Filth / Pack-rat Hoarding/ Fire / Smoke / Soot/ Animal or rodent feces removal/ Foreclosure / Eviction damage./ Tear Gas
I immediately realized that I got it pretty good living here in the middle of Michigan at ZipCode 48708.
Vanessa's company is located in California and provides her Blood / Body fluids / Urine / Feces / Vomit/ ETC services to the cities of Los Angeles and Bakersfield. I'm glad I don't live there -- no matter how good they claim the weather might be.
I like it better -- here in the Great Lakes Bay Region. I like that we're still surprised when we read or hear about a robbery at a local gas station. I know for a fact that muggers are not waiting in the parking lot at every super market or party store for little old ladies with large purses dangling from their arm.
Vanessa's email went on to mention that her company offers discounts and payment schedules for Cendecon's services. She also pointed out that Cendecon works closely with insurance companies.
But I would rather live in my Mid-western world surrounded by the ongoing belief that I will not need Cendecon's services in the near or immediate future.

Hi O.J.
I enjoyed reading your post and I'm glad that I was able to inspire it. I do agree that my line of work leaves something to be desired, but at the end of the day the families we are helping as so appreciative that it makes it all worth it. Sadly, the majority of our death cleanup jobs are suicides... although we've done a number of murder scenes, we're mostly dealing with self inflicted death. That's not to say that Los Angeles and Bakersfield (and everything in between) is not riddled with crime and murders. We do hoarding too, have done a number of extreme hoarding houses, filthy houses, animal hoarding etc. It really is an unusual job. Happy Holidays! |
