Essroc and Kroger was the match up for this weeks Game of the Week for major softball. In a close and high scoring game, the Grocers came out on top 12-10.

The visiting Essroc got things going in the first inning on a Sara Reinhardt single. She eventually came around to score putting her team on top by one. But Kroger responded in their half of the first in a big way. Using a combination of a double by Nicole Bauer and a single by Keygen Galbner to go with six walks, they scored six times making it 6-1 after one inning.

Essroc got one of the runs back in the second when Adri Martinez singled in a run. They added two more runs in the third bringing them closer, 6-4. Sara Reinhardt got things going for Essroc with her second hit of the game. Marrissa Trombley added a single to bring in a run for Essroc. But Kroger was able to respond with a run of their own when Keygen Galbner singled home Nicole Bauer making it 7-4.

Kroger added two more runs in the fourth. Kennedy Clyde collected her second single of the game knocking in two runs making it 9-4.

Essroc got back into the game in their half of the fifth thanks to control issues for Kroger. Six walks coupled with aggressive base running helped them score five times to tie the score. But the tie was short lived as Kroger came right back in their half of the fifth to take the lead. They too took advantage of walks to score three times giving them a 12-9 lead.

Essroc scored one more time in the sixth thanks to Sara Reinhardt's third hit of the game. She worked her way around the bases to score making it a 12-10 final.

The two teams continue action Monday when Essroc takes on the Essexville-Hampton Lions Club at 5 pm while Kroger plays the Firehouse Softwash at 7 pm.
