The Willew Lounge was Rocking for Michigan Idol's Rock Week on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. The Show will take a week break (Thanksgiving) and then return on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 for MOTOWN Theme Week.
(Steel Wheelz band will perform at The Willew on Wednesday the 23rd)
It was the first of a four week theme night as the competition unwinds. Next up is Motown, a judges pick, and the final week there will be no monitor available to singers during their performance.
Contestants rocked it out with the music from Shinedown, Nickelback, Heart, Buckcherry, AC/DC, Staind, Pat Benatar, Pearl Jam, Survivor, The Calling, Lynard Skynard, and more.
Idol Judge, Diane Szczepanski, said, "It was the most interesting night to date for me. We heard some great renditions and saw how versatile the competitors are."
Idol Judge, Hairball John, said, "I continue to be in awe of the amazing talent we are treated to each week." Hairball continued,
"With only a few weeks of competition left, it is imperative that those wishing to be crowned the new Michigan Idol make the transition from karaoke singer to a true musician/performer."
Hairball, added, "If you are doing it for the fun, thats great, but if you are in it to win it, you better step it up!"
The Winner will have the choice of $1,000 cash prize or a 2011 Yamaha Bravo 250 Snowmobile courtesy of Stevens' Cycle, A $4500.00 Value.
According to Show Host Josh Sharrow winner will also have the opportunity to perform at an Upcoming event at Stevens Cycle.
