Thank you,

We need to address this for The Great Lakes Bay Region and our power needs. We need power generated here so the City on Bay City no longer has to purchase power from out of state and so the Hemlock Semi Conductor can have enough local power to produce supplies to the solor power industry. Not to mention the immidate jobs, the spin off jobs and the increased tax base so desperatly needed.

The idea of "clean coal" is a marketing fraud dreamed up by the coal industry.

Coal-fired plants won't bring more jobs to the state. Destruction of our state's environment, its fishing and hunting, and our quality of life is a way to drive remaining jobs away. That is what the effects from coal-fired plants do now. I look forward to their eventual replacement and closing.

Meanwhile, we must not build more, especially in Bay County.

The clean coal technology that has been developed to date now allows coal to be used to generate power at a much cleaner method from yesteryear. Why there are even clips of BO (Barack Obama) stating that America needs ?Clean Coal?! Could it be that the Chosen One is wrong?

Mosher is partially correct saying coal fired plants won?t bring more jobs to the state. However, just the promise of the future energy this clean-coal plant will generate has already brought hundreds of construction jobs to the area at Hemlock SemiCondector. When the Consumer?s Power plant is built it will bring hundreds more when HSC is completed and is running on its coal-fired electricity.

Currently there is nothing available by wind or solar that could come close to generating even a fraction of power that this new coal plant will provide. Mosher, you and others had your chance for plenty of ?clean energy? when the nuclear plant in Midland was being constructed for Michigan.
