As a 'cleaning lady' and an owner of two very large and hairy pooches, I feel that there are many good vacuums out there both bagless and non. But, what I've found is that people don't take the time to clean the darn things out. If you properly maintain them by cleaning filters and changing the bags you will ad a few years to your investment. Most people think that winding up the cord at the end of a vacuuming is all that needs to be done. Wrong! If you have a vacuum with a paper filter, take it out every so often, throw it in an old plastic bag and shake it out. I clean mine with my shop vac and it really picks up alot better. If your vacuum feels ten pounds heavier than when you bought it, probably time for a new bag.

My sister used to work for the company when they were located in the National building in downtown Detroit, years ago (I think their headquarters in now in Troy). These Rainbow vac's are soooo good, I found a couple of them used (would you believe I bought a couple of them for $80 each!! at the same vac store?! - don't expect to find many deals like that, though), and got them in the hands of those with allergies. These things filter the air, as you use them. (Now, if I could just find more time to use it! ;P )
