Thanks for giving us a reasonable article about Bart Stupak, Dave. Poor ol' Bart has been getting hammered pretty hard by the left and right wing
news media. It has been like watching an old western where the lynch mob is getting all worked-up and hell-bent on hanging the one good man they have left in town.
I think Bart Stupak is a "stand-up guy". I voted for him before and I will vote for him again. Let's keep the good guys in office and let's get the hate mongerers out of office.

How will we American's pay for the 'free' healthcare plan?

I'm so happy this finally passed, and Stupak did the right thing. I've had too many friends who've died young because they were uninsured, and I was for much of my working life too.

Most of all, it's a step towards making US auto manufacturing competitive with Europe and Japan, where they've all got what Washington & Lansing call "Cadillac" health coverage. Not as a part of their jobs, but as citizens. Americans all deserve good health care too.

In response to "anonymous": Would you rather pay $400
a month to an insurance company for health care or pay $200 a month in taxes for health care? Which would be less expensive? Either way, there are going to be taxes to pay. There's all these wars we get into to be paid for. I would like to see less wars and more healthcare, rebuilding of the nation's infrastructure, more funding for education, etc..
