I can sing . . .
. . . but only in Church.
Why is it that when I am at church I think my singing sounds decent. (Some of my closest friends may disagree.)
You don't need to be a 'good' singer to sing in church -- Do you ?
I serve as a usher at St. Mary's church in Bay City and as I greet people as they walk in, I offer them the worship aid/hymnal. I notice there are a few, that will decline and say, no thanks, I can't or don't sing.
Does God care if you are a good singer or not? Are we there to worship, praise and follow the word of God.
If There are times when I don't sing, I will still follow along with the hymnal. Or how about, just "hum" along if you don't want to sing.
And you can bet when I am walking out of church, with my mother, I am always singing the last hymn . . . and she doesn't seem to mind as she always smiles at me.
God respects me when I work; but God loves me when I sing. ~
Rabindranath Tagore
He who sings frightens away his ills. ~
Miguel de Cervantes
