Matt Reid, Director of the Bay Arts Council was happy with the weather, the performance of the entertainers and the crowd turn-out.

"I think the community looks forward to the Concerts in the Park every summer," Reid said, smiling. "You know it's summer in downtown Bay City when the music starts on Wednesday nights."
Paul & Peggy Rowley were also on hand for the opening night of the 2011 Bay Arts Council Summer Series. The Rowleys are recognized as being the force behind the creation of the Bay Arts Council. "I enjoy the music so much," Peggy Rowley said. "This is such a beautiful place for a concert event."
Entertainment featured the Bay City Central High School Jazz Band, The Burdons and Under Advisement. The Bay Arts Council Summer Series runs every Wednesday night at Wenonah Park Bandshell until August 3, 2011. (Seven Weeks).

"We got to rehearse a little bit yesterday," said Keenan, now in her 10th year with the Bay City Central music program. "This is our first year performing in the Bay Arts Council's s summer series," Keenan said. "It's a great event, a great crowd and a great night."

Wednesdays in the Park Concerts open at Bay City's Wenonah Park with a local group at 6 p.m. and the main act at 7 p.m.
June 15 - Central High School Jazz Band along with local groups The Burdons and Under Advisement
June 22 - Perry Woodard School of Dance and ABBA Mania, an ABBA tribute band
July 6 - Groove Project and Hotel California, an Eagles Tribute Band
July 13 - Shinning Star Dance Academy and Lights, a tribute to Journey
July 20 - The Baytones, a 16-piece swing band and Switchback, a Celtic Soul Band
July 27 - Valley Rhythm Cloggers and Parrots of the Caribbean , a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band
Aug. 3 - The Bay City Central Steel Drum Band and Phil Dirt and the Dozers
Dow Corning Young People's Series
The Dow Corning Young People's Series All shows are free and take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Wednesdays at Bay City's Wenonah Park. June 22 - Entertainer Guy Louis
July 6 - Folk tales, stories and ballads concentrating on the history and legend of Michigan
July 13 - Detroit humorist Ivory Williams, who promotes positive messages with African and African-American storytelling
July 20 - Award-winning ventriloquist and puppeteer Richard Paul

Thank you for the nice pictures and words about The Burdons. It was a great event. However, David Davenport has not played in the band since 1990. The name should read: Bob Charlebois instead of David Davenport!
