It wouldn't be a summer concert without Peggy & Paul Rowley. The Rowleys, who are the Founders of the Bay Arts Council, were on hand for the 2011 season opener. (L/R) John Webb, Peggy & Paul Rowley and Beverly Webb. (Photo by O. J. Cunningham)

Although clouds threatened, Mother Nature was kind to the evening schedule of music that featured the smooth jazz of the Bay City Central High School Jazz Band, directed by Kristy Keenan and the best of rock-and-roll from both the Burdons and Under Advisement -- both local music groups.
"I think the community looks forward to the Concerts in the Park every summer," Reid said, smiling. "You know it's summer in downtown Bay City when the music starts on Wednesday nights."
Paul & Peggy Rowley were also on hand for the opening night of the 2011 Bay Arts Council Summer Series. The Rowleys are recognized as being the force behind the creation of the Bay Arts Council. "I enjoy the music so much," Peggy Rowley said. "This is such a beautiful place for a concert event."
Entertainment featured the Bay City Central High School Jazz Band, The Burdons and Under Advisement. The Bay Arts Council Summer Series runs every Wednesday night at Wenonah Park Bandshell until August 3, 2011. (Seven Weeks).

Thank you for the nice pictures and words about The Burdons. It was a great event. However, David Davenport has not played in the band since 1990. The name should read: Bob Charlebois instead of David Davenport!
Thank you for all you do in and for our community O.J.!!!!
