Bird's Custom Framing & Art Supplies of Bay City recently attended a framing seminar/competition in Traverse City, Michigan and came home with a First Place award!
"We are just thrilled with the award," said Linda Wells, Owner at Birds. Wells went on to say that the award give the local Framing and Art Supply Shop some "bragging rights" as far as the competition. "It's truly a feather in our collective caps," she said.
Linda Wells, Mary Andrus and Lisa Owen attended the 13th Annual Educational Seminar" on April 28th & 29th, 2012 at Nelsons Moulding in Traverse City and entered in the PPFA's (Professional Picture Framers Association) Print Competition. After judging they were presented with four ribbons: 1st Place, Judges Award, Peoples Choice and and one for participation.
The artwork was treated as priceless and framed as if being placed in a museum. Scoring for this competition is rigorous, in which they excelled in all areas. This event is sponsored by the PPFA, of which they have been a member of the Great Lakes Chapter since 1973.
Wells went on to say that the average score of the competitors for the event was about 180. "Our entry scored right around 240." The winning piece will be headed for Las Vegas, Nevada in January, 2013 for an International Competition. An "Unveiling" open house will be held at Bird's soon after.
